Expendables Minimates Review

I am reviewing the Diamond Select Toys Minimates sets from The Expendables and The Expendables 2. In case you are wondering how to get hold of the figures of Barney Ross, there are two of them which you can in the sets sold only at Toys R Us.

In the first movie set there are figures of:

Lee Christmas - Jason Statham

Mr. Church - Bruce Willis

Tool - Mickey Rourke

Hale Caesar - Terry Crews

The Second movie set includes:

Yin Yang - Jet Li

Gunner Jensen - Dolph Lundgren

Jean Vilain - Jean-Claude Van Damme

Toll Road - Randy Couture














Overall the faces are really good detail of each person, I think the best detail comes from the figure of Tool played by Mickey Rourke.

They move very smooth and are easy to play with if you are looking for the toy side of them. The only two things that give a little trouble are Jean Vilain's head and the weapons. With his head it takes a little time to get his sunglasses head on the first time, after that it is easy to pop on and off. The weapon issue is that it also takes some time to get it in the hands of the figures. Other then those two issues the figures are great. I was worried at first when there wasn't a stand of any of them but they are great standing by themselves.

With the toy side of them, I am glad to know that they are very strong and don't break or scratch easy.

As the company says, please do be careful giving these toys to younger ones because of the small parts.

The store packages are great. They each have a short story about the films and the people that the toys are based on. It also includes a picture of the Expendables 2 poster and the skull logo.

Would I say to buy this? Yes.

The Expendables 2 Review.

What do you get when you put together a movie full of well known action movie stars, a lot of action, and many jokes about each cast member's old movies? You get the Expendables 2.

Sylvester Stallone returns as Barney Ross in this action packed movie. From Rocky to Rambo this guy has done it all. He really brings great talent to this film. Not only does he bring great action talent to the film, he brings great acting. He can be serious and he can be funny, he is just that good. I can't wait to see where he takes the team next.

Now in this movie we are going to need some more famous action movie stars... But who? How about Chuck Norris? Yes the Texas Ranger is a good choice for this film. He plays Booker aka the Lone Wolf (Anyone know what film connects with the last part?). He is an all around great actor. Note the western music clip when they show him, I would take that to be a hint of his history as Walker.

That is only two people from major action films, who else? Wait! I know! We need someone big, maybe the TERMINATOR! Arnold Schwarzenegger joins the crew as Trench. This isn't his first time with this team. He will be back to beat up the bad guys if they get in his way. (Come on! You know I had to get in a joke about past films). Take note of a few jokes about his work while watching this film.

All around the cast was fantastic! The crew was great! Simon West did a amazing job directing the movie and I hope he returns for a 3rd. Special effects were epic! Only thing I noticed was the blood effect seemed just a little over done.

There were a lot of jokes about past movies such as Rambo and Terminator, it was a little cheesy but it was funny! I laughed many times during this movie, which to me is a good thing even in an action movie.

One thing I would have done is used the motorcyles more then they did in this movie.

Just a note: This is RATED R for a reason and you need to remember that before taking kids to see it! At least talk to them about the rating and why it is rated that! Don't just take them and blame the movie!
