Spider-Man: Homecoming

After a long wait, Spider-Man now has his own movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It seems it was worth the wait. Tom Holland comes through as the best Spider-Man yet. The two previous versions certainly had their strong points, but “Spider-Man: Homecoming” combines them all into a great character.

The story is very well written. From the very beginning, you know how the movie fits into the MCU. Maybe they pushed it because they wanted to establish that this was not the same as the previous Spider-Man films. Whatever the reason, it absolutely worked.

Michael Keaton also delivers as the villain Vulture. It is another case of believing he is doing the right thing, or at least doing the wrong thing for the right reason. In some respects, he is just a guy trying to do right by his family, which can make him somewhat likable to the audience. The ends don't justify the means, but his motives are clear.

The supporting cast comes through with solid performances. While most of Peter's classmates are not the ones you have seen appear in the previous versions, they create a great group.

There was a lot of speculation about how computer generated the suit was going to look. All in all, I think it looked great. It also plays homage to the comics while still giving the hero an updated look.

If you are looking for a fun theater experience, this would be a great one to see. There's a lot of action, a lot of heart, and still a lot of laughs. Can't wait to see “Avengers: Infinity War” to see Spider-Man have more interaction with the others.  This definitely would be labeled "Amazing" by our founder, Jeremy.

What do you think? Did “Spider-Man: Homecoming” deliver? Is Tom Holland your new favorite, or do you still like Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield?  Let us know in the comments.  Just remember, clean language and NO SPOILERS!!

See you at the movies!
