Warm Bodies Review

This is your everyday Beauty and the Beast story, if Beast had been a Zombie. I have seen a lot of films come out about Zombies, which were just shooter films. This film stands out and could be one of the best movies of 2013.

This is such a fun and entertaining story about life after the Zombie Apocalypse.  I think one of the best parts about the film is how well the cast over all works together, each in their own way they bring you into this story.  You won't just wonder what happens to the main person, you want to know what goes on with each of them and this movie tells you that.

Nicholas Hoult plays R, the hoodie wearing Zombie who seems to think more then others like him. I was a fan of Hoult when he played Hank McCoy in X-Men: First Class, I think he brings a lot of the reason why into this film.  He is funny on the screen as well as doing the voice over during film.

NICHOLAS HOULT and TERESA PALMER

Teresa Palmer plays Julie, the human who befriends R.  She brings a lot of her role from I Am Number Four into this movie when she starts to fight. She also brings the laughs to the film as well. The two fo them together make the film fantastic because they made a great pair.

The evil Zombies look scary at points but it is more of a Harry Potter scary and a can't sleep scary. As for the action scenes, they are packed full but again they aren't extreme that you can't look at the screen. It is more about the fighting and not the blood which is a good thing. Pretty much action wise it is Zombie movie toned down to make it family friendly.

The detail of the Zombies and locations is fantastic and makes this film even better. I think the story gives enough detail for this movie and leaves room for a second film, this could be another epic saga.

This film is one that you can take kids to go see, it is a Zombie film for the whole family. A tale that makes us wonder if the end of the world, is really the end?

  1. I mostly love zombie movies, and I always love seeing a different take on the genre, especially one where you actually believe in the love between a zombie and a human. Good review J.
