Monsters University Review.

When you hear the word "prequel", you tend to think you will know how the story goes since it is leading to the movie which you've already seen. Well, Disney and Pixar's Monsters University proves that to be wrong in many ways. Yes, this is a movie about how Mike and Sully from 'Monsters Inc' become who they are now, but this movie isn't that simple, this film has more story then you can ever imagine. Just like every Disney story, there is a true meaning behind it all for the viewers.

Now let's talk about the magic, Disney and Pixar magic that is. The 3D is fantastic in this film and really makes it pop off the screen. One thing I have always loved with these two companies is the fact that they never miss a detail, such as the marvelous feel of the Monsters University Campus (Seen here)

Let's talk about the Monsters!

Billy Crystal Returns as the voice of Mike Wazowski. He really does wonders with bringing Mike to life on the big screen. You can't help but laugh when he tells a joke.

Also returning is John Goodman as James P. Sullivan aka Sully. I think the tone of his voice is one of the best parts of him doing this role, because it fits the look of Sully. Just as they did in the first film, John and Billy really work well together.

We must not forget the other returning voice to this film, Steve Buscemi as Randall.

 A University needs someone to keep the school in line and that is just what Dean Hardscrabble does. Dame Helen Mirren does a divine job as the voice of this powerful school leader.

Such a great cast, including Sean Hayes, Dave Foley, Alfred Molina, Peter Sohn, Joel Murray, Nathan Fillion, Charlie Day, and many more.

MAN OF STEEL Review.

Let's talk about the man himself, Henry Cavill. I think what makes him the best choice for this role is how he said he used the comic books to get ready for this film and not his past roles. When Amy Adams was picked as Lois Lane, Noel Neil said she was "a wonderful choice" (Which as all fans know, that is huge coming from her). I truly believe the late Christopher Reeve and George Reeves would have given the same kind words in regards to Henry. If you watch this film, you will see that he plays his own 'Man of Steel' but you will also see moments where he is very much like Christopher. One of my favorite parts about Henry's role as Kal-El is the fact he can do the 'Man of Steel' jokes and still bring epic serious scenes to life. For what I mean about the epic serious scenes: In the trailers for this film, they show a couple of his fight scenes which as full scenes in the movie are most likely the best action scenes in 2013.

Now do I agree with Noel about Amy Adams playing Lois Lane? Well, of course I do. The best part about her playing Miss Lane is how she plays the strong no fear Lois but at the same time the girl who still needs the 'Man of Steel' just as much as you know he will need her. As you can see in the trailer scenes and in this film such as the interview room scene, she and Henry make a perfect Lois and Clark/Kal-El.

Every story has a villain, this story has ZOD played by Michael Shannon. Here are the main reasons I find him a great Zod.
1. He is not scared to yell... "I WILL FIND HIM"
2. As Zod, he really has that look and attitude about him that really makes you cheer on the guy in the cape. Yet, that attitude also makes you think.. MAN THIS DUDE MEANS BUSINESS!
3. Michael along with the writing team really bring a new life to the story of Zod.
4. When he yells "I WILL FIND HIM"

We talked about Kal-El aka Clark Kent, we should talk about his two fathers. First it's Jor-El played by Russell Crowe. Same as Michael, I am going to list off the reasons I like him in this film.
1. He has that cool mentor look and sound to him in this film, that really makes you want to listen when Jor-El speaks.
2. He makes the role of Jor-El his own, as it is a new story for Jor-El.
3. He really does give great talks about life.
4. He really gives his all for this role to bring it to life for the fans.

Now for Mr. Kent aka Kevin Costner.
1. He can also give really good life talks for Clark.
2. In just his first scene, he sets a record for Mr. Kent being on the big screen.
3. He brings a new emotion to the role when caring about Clark.
4. He and Diane Lane play great parents as Jonathan and Martha Kent.

Today's word of the day is SPECIAL EFFECTS... Okay two words of the day. My favorite part of the special effects is Henry's flight scenes as well as the battles. Huge thumbs up for the effects team on putting together such an fantastic Krypton. There is not a single detail/effect in this film that will make you say "they could have done that better". What makes these special effects even better? 3D!!

Note to 'Smallville' fans, keep an eye out when watching this film. For all DC Comics movie fans, watch for Easter eggs!

'Man of Steel' will make you fly right back into the theater to see it again.

Now You See Me Review.

This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat til the very end, it is true movie magic.

There is no good way to talk about this fantastic story without giving spoilers, so let's talk about magic shall we? I hear people talk about a movie when it lists magic, some of them think any movie with magic is just a children's film. They are wrong, this film is an action movie, it is a detailed story. This is a movie that everyone will want to see. I will say this about the story, the writing is truly magical.

Let's talk about the magic makers aka the cast and crew.

Mark Zuckerberg is in this film, oh no wait that is 'The Social Network' star Jesse Eisenberg. The reason I make the Zuckerberg joke is because Jesse brings a lot of that role into his 'Now You See Me' role of J. Daniel Atlas. There is something about his attitude in this film that really works.

'Warm Bodies' star Dave Franco, plays Jack Wilder along with 'Rise of the Guardians' Isla Fisher, who plays Henley Reeves. I think with these two it is also their attitudes as well as the fact that they don't just take a back seat to Eisenberg, they all play equal to each other that makes them such a great part of this film. Now does everyone know his name? playing Merritt McKinney is Woody Harrelson. The best part of his role has to be his comedy.



Keep an eye out for the Marvel and DC Entertainment movie mash-up that happens in this movie. By this I mean the great line up of three actors. First from the world of Marvel's 'The Avengers' we have Mark Ruffalo (aka Bruce Banner) who plays Dylan Rhodes in this story. He brings a lot of his clam yet partly on edge role of Dr. Banner from the Avengers into this role.

Now from DC Entertainment 'The Dark Knight Rises' we have Morgan Freeman and Sir Michael Caine (Fox and Alfred). They play Thaddeus Bradley and Arthur Tressler (in that order), they are both funny and serious actors which makes them that much more entertaining.

Shout out to one of the filming location cities in this film, New Orleans, Louisiana. Towards the start of this film, you will find yourself wanting some Beignets (For those of you who don't know what those are: http://www.cafedumonde.com/beignets). I always love seeing when movies are filmed in the Big Easy. I believe that those from Louisiana will love many parts of this film.

"Look closely, because the closer you think you are, the less you will actually see". This film is worth seeing again and again because you never know what you might have missed the first time.
