Cinderella Review

“Have courage, be kind.” Such true words, one of the most memorable phrases from the new live action Cinderella by Walt Disney Motion Pictures. For a story many of us know very well, Disney brought new elements and twists to it, keeping even the biggest fans of the story glued to the screen the whole time.

Lily James brings Cinderella to life in a truly magical way. She gives a real depth to the character and makes you feel for her. She is beautiful, and was definitely the right pick for this role.

The Wicked Stepmother, portrayed by Cate Blanchett, is truly a character everyone loves to despise. She carries herself in a such a manner that you know she demands, and expects, power and control. Her performance is outstanding.

Richard Madden does a fabulous job of portraying The Prince. He struggles with a battle known to many – finding a balance between tradition, and new ways of thinking. His heart is quickly stolen, but of course, he doesn't know who she is. His determination to find her creates some of the funniest scenes in the movie.

Helena Bonham Carter is the Fairy Godmother and she is just fantastic! All I will say about her character is that you should always be careful how you treat people because you never know who they are, or when you may need their help.

The Wicked Stepsisters definitely make it their mission to make Cinderella's life miserable. They fight each other for their mother's attention and are incredibly selfish. Holliday Grainger and Sophia McShera do a really great job in these two roles.

The supporting cast in Cinderella also all add important parts to the story – don't overlook their impact.

The costumes are beyond outstanding in this movie! The colors, fabrics, and styling are right on target. Of course, the iconic shoes are phenomenal!

Highly recommend going to see Cinderella! You will not regret it. In the words of the World Wide Blog of Movies founder, Jeremy – this movie is “Amazing!!!”

Remember, dreams really do come true!!
