10 years ago, “Iron Man” appeared
on the big screen. Known as one of Marvel's B-List heroes, what
chance would be have of being a successful movie, It turns out, it
was the right call. 10 years and 19 movies later, the Marvel
Cinematic Universe is going stronger than ever.
The 19th film in the MCU
has finally hit theaters in the form of “Avengers: Infinity War”.
The movie does not disappoint. The story starts before the opening
logos are even off the screen, and it doesn't stop until the credits.
Actually, this is an MCU movie, so it didn't stop until the scene
after the credits.
With all the speculation about actor
contracts and who has how many movies left, your head will be
spinning trying to guess what's next. The movie has an endless
supply of twists and turns, yet still manages to keep a solid flow.
My biggest concern when they announced
a movie with so many of the beloved heroes, was that it could easily
become choppy as they tried to fit multiple stories into the run-time
of one movie. This certainly wasn't the case. Although I wouldn't
advise looking away from the screen because you may miss a
transition. Not that looking away will be an issue here. It takes
some very talented filmmakers to have this many characters and
locations, and make it into a terrific piece of art.
Many people have asked why the Marvel
Comics based movies have done so well while the DC Comics based
movies continue to struggle. I believe it is because Marvel and
Disney have found a way to make you really care about the characters.
Even in these fantastic sci-fi style scenes, the emotion feels very
real. You connect to what you're watching, and that is what makes it
all work.
That is thanks in large part to the
cast. The cast in “Avengers: Infinity War” is enormous in both
size and talent. It's impressive that a cast of this size can all be
so perfectly picked. They all bring so much heart to their
characters, it's hard to imagine them being played by anyone else,
even though some actually were to start with.
There is no doubt that World Wide Blog
of Movies founder, Jeremy, would call this movie “Amazing”.
Although I don't think he would have stopped there. I definitely
recommend this to anyone into fun action movies. Remember this is a
part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means stay until the
credits are over. Also, the standard cliffhangers are replaced by
scenes giving the audience the desire to see the next one before
leaving the theater.
