Disney and Pixar's Brave Review.

This movie brings two firsts for a Disney and Pixar movie. It is their first full on Action Adventure. The biggest part of it is that it is their first movie with a female lead star.

Merida is the new red head in the team of Pixar's heroes and Disney's team of Princesses. Her voice is wonderfully done by Kelly Macdonald, who was a fantastic choice for the lead role because of her voice and how she brings the truly brave part of Merida to life. I hope to see her in movie Disney and Pixar films.

Now with every born princess, there is a king and a queen. The queen in this story is Elinor, voiced by Emma Thompson. She plays the sometimes bossy but always loving queen very well and is by far the best choice. She was in another Disney movie 10 years ago which was called "Treasure Planet".

Now to king Fergus, voiced by Billy Connolly. He made both the serious and funny parts of the movie even better with his acting, as well as his jokes. Connolly, has also been on a Disney movie before, when he was the played of Billy Bonesm in Muppet Treasure Island. He brought the laughs from that movie into this movie.

Over all the cast was awesome and really brought the story to life, now let's talk about the people who brought the movie to the big screen. Starting with the director Mark Andrews. This is Andrews' first feature film as director, he did a epic job! I think we will be seeing him as director for many movies to come from the world of Pixar. Good job to both him and his crew.

Just a little more infomation on the director. Mark worked on the storyboard for the Disney and Pixar movie "Cars", he has also worked on the storyboard for "The Iron Giant" which was directed by Pixar's own Brad Bird.

The story is one of the best from Disney and Pixar, the story telling is one of the best parts. It is easy to follow, yet very hard to know what is going to happen next. Which makes it feel as if you were seeing the stuff as new as it is to Merida. I don't want to give away too much for the story, so let's talk about the location of the story. Scotland.

The movie makes you feel like you are standing right in the middle of Scotland along with Merida. The 3D and (Animation) camera effects really showed the real life look of the movie edition of Scotland well.

One of the year's best movies! 5 stars all around! It is a must see for all Disney and Pixar fans, as well as any adventure fans. I believe any age would love this movie!

Thank you to ESSEX CINEMAS and T-REX for being the theater of choice for my movie reviews. When you are looking for the best place to check out a movie, make it ESSEX CINEMAS and T-REX at the Essex Outlets Center in Essex, VT! http://www.essexcinemas.com

The T-Rex Theater is AMAZING!!! With the 60 foot curved screen and 124 speakers which is part of 7.1 Digital Surround Sound, there are 401 extra wide luxury seats with memory-foam headrests making a movie theater trip you will never forget! T-Rex stands for “Theatre Real Extreme”

  1. Probably one of Pixar’s best-looking flicks, but not their best film at all. Has a great set-up, but then loses itself about half-way through and just got a little too kiddish for me. Then again, maybe some parents will like that and so will the kids, so who am I to judge? Good review J-Wing.
