The Amazing Spider-Man Review

Spider-Man came swinging into theaters today with the debut of "The Amazing Spider-Man", the question is... Is Spider-Man Truly "Amazing"?

In 2002 met Peter Parker who was played by Toby Maguire. We followed this Peter to the final movie Spider-Man 3 in 2007. Today in 2012 we met Peter Parker again, this time played by Andrew Garfield. I will always be a fan of Toby in the first set of Spider-Man movies, but I truly believe that Andrew is by far the best Peter/Spider-Man.

Andrew Garfield really swings into action in this role. He brings you into the movie and you feel happy and sad in all the scenes, as if you were standing along side him. I like how they show more of Peter's reaction time to his new powers, it really gives you more insight to the story's detail. I think we will be seeing many more movies with Andrew as Peter Parker, maybe even a new Avenger? He could hold his own with the Avengers and would be a "Amazing" add to a great team. (You know I had to use AMAZING to talk about Spider-Man.) The main thing I really really like about him playing Spider-Man, is the fact that he brings both the drama and comedy from both the comics and cartoons in the Spider-Man world to the movie.

Marc Webb did a fantastic job bringing the web shooting hero to life in the new film. There are a few things I found done better in this film then in the first Spider-Man series. One of those things is the story of Uncle Ben. I think Marc's movie told a better story of the man known as Uncle Ben, it makes you feel more for scenes where Ben, comes to meet Spider-Man history. Martin Sheen, does a great job as Uncle Ben. The main reason for that is because he can be funny in scenes as well as being a serious guardian figure in Peter's life.

Anyone ever watch the movie The Replacements? You know that movie about the football team starring Keanu Reeves. You have? So you remember the player named Nigel, played by Rhys Ifans. Well Mr. Ifans is back on the big screen again playing the friendly Doctor Connors as well as the not so friendly villian The Lizard. The way he can switch from calm to crazy in two seconds is one of the main reasons he is the best choice for this role. I kind of hope that we meet Doc Connors again in the future.

Emma Stone plays the smart and brave Gwen Stacy. It takes a strong actress to play the girl who has to deal with both Peter, aka the web swinging hero, and her father, aka the police captain. With a life with two guys who are well known around the city, she has to be able to stand on her own. She is strong and able to do that. Here is a question for my viewers, what would you like to see in the next movie with the story of Gwen?

This is the first time that Spider-Man has been in RealD 3D and it was EPIC! There are scenes which make it seem that you are Spider-Man as you see the view from his eyes jumping and swinging roof top to roof top. Everything jumps off the screen. I believe every movie in this series should be in 3D!

This movie gets 5 out of 5 stars, because Spider-Man is truly AMAZING!

So now on to my viewers again, comment and let me know your answer to this next question. Who do you want to see Spider-Man fight next? Also which hero do you think should make a cameo in this series?
