The Monuments Men Review.

George Clooney and Matt Damon have a 'Oceans Eleven'-type team up in their new film “The Monuments Men” based on the true story of the World War II team.

Let's start this off with what jumped out at me from the start, the small amount of special effects. . Being based on the war, they could have made it a big special effect film with lots of fire, etc easy. That being said, they did not, they kept it nice and simple which worked perfectly with the story of the film.

Now most of the time with reviews of the cast, I put their picture from the film. This time with the help from the Monuments Men Foundation, I would like to try something new. I will do a review of the cast but then I will list their name with their role and the name of the person that role was based on as well as a picture of the real life Monuments Men member.

For a story about a real life group, you have to make sure the cast works well together because if they don't it will make the film horrible. The great thing about this film is the fact that the cast works perfectly together. As someone who has seen all the Oceans' film with George Clooney and Matt Damon, I was happy to see that they were returning to the big screen. Then you add John Goodman, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville and Cate Blanchett, you have a WONDERFUL cast all around.

As you look at the following photos, please take the time to look at http://www.monumentsmenfoundation.org/ to learn more about these great people and their story.

George Clooney played Frank Stokes aka George L. Stout.

Matt Damon played James Granger aka James Rorimer.

Bill Murray played Richard Campbell aka Robert K. Posey.

John Goodman played Walter Garfield aka Walker Hancock

Hugh Bonneville played Donald Jeffries aka Ronald Balfour.

Cate Blanchett played Claire Simone aka Rose Valland.

There is a lot of history in these photos and in this movie, it is well worth seeing.
